Chicken and Duck Talk

We have been praying for our daughter, wishing her get closer to God again. It took long time. Finally, God answered our prayers and led her back to church. Thanks God! We appreciate it so much. We never thought that God would make it happen in Taiwan though (she's teaching English there).

A few days ago, my daughter talked to her mom over the phone in American-Chinese. As parents of ABC’s, you and I know how it goes. It really won’t surprise us if we see chicken and duck talk to each other. She told her mom that she needed to 受訓 (I thought she said 休息). My wife was so amazed at God's work. Wow! that fast?! She thought my daughter was going to 受洗. When chicken said: "十個千." Duck needed time to respond: "Oh? ...

Message-2012-0129

Elder Yeung of ACC (Arlington Chinese Church) had a good preaching in NLGC today. Hereby to share part of it before I forget.

He preached Philippians 4: 1-18 to encourage us be gentle to everyone on everything. He brought up a few testimonies. The one touched me the most was about a sister who found no way to handle a bad kid in her class. Finally, she turned her headache to God and prayed for a solution. Later, she was surprised that God didn't do a thing as she prayed and expected for. Instead, God completely cooled her down and made her no anger when the kid did a bad thing again in her class. It turned out to be the kid was surprised by her different reaction and started having much better behavior...

Philippians 4: 6-7:

It's really difficult to copy the same touch feeling as Elder Yeung delivered. That's one of the reasons why we need to attend Sunday worship: to catch the message by ourselves.

Pregnancy

01/21/2012, I went to a trade show and bumped into an old friend there. We were laughing at each other about how we could get so out-of-shape. He was screaming in the crowd: “Hey! How did Carol make you pregnant?” Everyone passed-by looked at me and laughed. Oh, it hurt bad. I sent Carol a text message to tell her what he said. Carol replied: “Yes, you are pregnant. Let him know you have twins.” Oh, that hurt worse.
